Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End has been delayed. Originally scheduled for release in Fall 2015, the game has been pushed to Spring 2016 to allow for more development time. The news comes from a PlayStation Blog post by game directors Bruce Straley and Neil Druckmann.
“Since we showed you our first gameplay reveal of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, more of the game and story have come together, and it’s become clear to us that this game is much more ambitious than we originally envisioned.” write Straley & Druckmann. “So we’ve made the difficult choice of pushing the game’s release date. Giving us a few extra months will make certain that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End not only meets the team’s high standards but the high standards that gamers have come to expect from a Naughty Dog title.”
This news will likely be met with much disappointment from fans of the series. Personally, I trust Naughty Dog with this decision. The Last of Us was also delayed and it turned out to be arguably one of the best games of all time. If Naughty Dog needs a few more months to turn a good game into a great game then so be it.
