Just minutes after Gamespot announced that Heist Mode will be available to GTA Online players across all Xbox and Playstation consuls, the influx of players essentially shut down GTA V online.
Online Heists are now available for Rockstar’s acclaimed adult action game, Grand Theft Auto V. The mode is now available in GTA Online, the multiplayer mode for Grand Theft Auto V and available across Xbox 360, Xbox One, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
According to Gamespot, “There are five total Heists available in GTA Online right now, including an “introductory” Heist that can be played by two people instead of four. For a full rundown of what to expect from Heists, check out the video above and GameSpot’s previous coverage.
On top of the five Heists, today’s GTA Online update introduces a range of new content, including Adversary modes, daily objectives, and free mode activities, as well a new weapons, vehicles, challenges, and more.”
Since its announcement, however, servers have been completely overloaded. One commenter exclaimed, “Don’t know why Rockstar didn’t plan for the inevitable sudden influx of players more efficiently than they did. I mean SURELY they must have seen this coming? Surely it wouldn’t have hurt them to install more servers to handle this number of players? It’s a pity, because at the moment, it seems to be putting all the hard work they put in to get these heists out and make them as enjoyable as possible to absolute waste.”
Sadly, fans of GTA V will have to wait for the servers to clear up before they can experience this highly anticipated mode.
